Burkholderia ambifaria MCI 7 is a beneficial bacterium isolated from the maize rhizosphere in Italy (https://doi.org/10.1007/s003740050649). The picture illustrates its antagonistic activity against Fusarium verticillioides ITEM-504 in greenhouse conditions. On the right, Zea mays plant grown in soil artificially infested with F. verticillioides ITEM-504 and inoculated with B. ambifaria MCI7. On the left, non-inoculated plant grown in artificially infested soil (control). Plants were collected after 20 days of growth.
