ENEA Microbial Culture Collection
Data Base EMCC
The database currently comprises over 1400 strains, primarily bacteria, but also fungi, yeasts, microalgae, and a plant virus. The most abundant genera include Burkholderia, Pseudomonas, Bacillus, Arthrobacter, Streptomyces, Paenibacillus, Staphylococcus, Stenotrophomonas, and Microbacterium for bacteria; Aspergillus, Penicillium, Engyodontium, Cladosporium, and Trichoderma for fungi; and Saccharomyces, Rhodotorula, and Pichia for yeasts. Also present are the microalgae species Haematococcus pluvialis and Scenedesmus almeriensis, and a plant virus, Potexvirus, with significant biotechnological applications. The database, easily consultable using some search keys that allow you to filter the desired data, provides information regarding the microorganism, its taxonomic assignment, its origin and geographical geolocation, the growth conditions and fields of application, associated with bibliographical references which provide further information on the strains and their use.
